Scotch : Islay – Very light in color, may be attributed to the lack of age statement. Strong peated flavor, but surprisingly not a strong alcohol flavor given the proof. You get an almost candy like sweetness on the first sip, that mellows into malted barley with a hint of lemon and a very faint wiff of grilling steak. There is nothing exceptional about this whisky, but it’s still personable.
